There are reports of ET News which reveals that Apple has recently been contacted LG Display, Japan Display, Samsung Display and a number of other display manufacturers in connection with their plans on the use of the panel with a layer of silver nano wire (AgNW) technology in the iPad lineup. Apple requested to these companies to send panel samples with AgNW technology, before they decide which company will be appointed to handle the mass production process.
AgNW layer is claimed to be more sensitive than the ITO layer, more flexible and improve the touch sensor on a flexible screen, by presenting the degree of accuracy with better sensitivity. Thus the iPad Pro would be perfect for use in the purposes of drawing or writing by using a fingertip. And when combined with Force Touch feature, then this new iPad will be the ideal tablet for designers, illustrators professional, even architects.
In addition, the use of this AgNw technology can also reduce production costs because the material used is not difficult to obtain as well as indium, but for the overall production costs remain high because it looks like Apple is considering to merge AgNW layer with sapphire crystal panel.
In the release schedule of the iPad Pro likelihood Apple will postpone it until next year, which is not to coincide with the launch of iphone 6s / iPhone 7 this year.
